The watershed restoration plan details the management measures needed to achieve the required reduction in fecal coliform and attain water quality standards for total phosphorus and total suspended solids, reduce aquatic life impairments to a non-impaired level and assess the potential for restoring the base flow of the Neshanic River in the 31 square mile Neshanic River watershed.

  • The Project Team submitted the Neshanic River Watershed Restoration Plan to NJDEP in February 2012.

Funding for this project was provided by the Office of Policy Implementation and Watershed Restoration, formerly the Division of Watershed Management, at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection through the Clean Water Act’s Section 319(h) program (Grant Contract #RP06-068). Additional in-kind contributions to the project are provided by New Jersey Institute of Technology, Hunterdon County Soil Conservation District and the New Jersey Water Supply Authority.
